Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Maple Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk, maple syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a large resealable plastic bag with the corner snipped off for easy filling.
  6. Pipe the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts spring back when touched.
  8. While the donuts are baking, prepare the maple glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Once the donuts are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. Dip each donut into the maple glaze, ensuring they are fully coated, and return them to the wire rack to set.
  11. For an extra touch, you can sprinkle chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or a dash of cinnamon on top of the glaze.
  12. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving and enjoying these delectable maple donuts!
